The hotly anticipated Sigur Ros DVD ‘Helma’ came out in November with live sound recording by Ken.
TIM HOLMES
Tim continued to mix the debut album for PIAS/Wall Of Sound band A Human at the legendary Contino Rooms, and the label released their single ‘A Horse With No Name’, at the end of the month.
PEDRO FERREIRA
Pedro completed a radio edit for unsigned band Underground Heroes, represented by Empire Management. The band has received rave reviews from their recent London gigs.
PHIL VINALL
Phil has received more award nominations this month: he has a nomination from the French Quartz Awards with a band called Sub-Division. Their LP featured on a Cannes film winner and they are up for best undiscovered band.
Phil has produced a single for Micky Kerr from Leeds soon to be released, and he is also working on a single for the band, Show Without Punch.
At present, he is residing in the republic of Mexico producing a DVD for ZOE, and he is also producing the Seeing Scarlet LP, which has been released features single "Aliens".
Additional he has been working with The Simplifiers – a band which is a strange mixture of Mexican and Irish, plus a band called Coin from Holland soon to be released.
Phil’s previous work with band International One has received airplay on Radio 1.
JOHN SMITH
John was mixing tracks for the US band Balan at Mayfair Studios in Primrose Hill.
ADE PRESSLY
Ade has been recording, editing and mixing the Audio Extras (commentaries and discussions) for a new DVD of the BBC series QI for Warner Music Entertainment. He has also been working on the sound design and mix for corporate films for Curry's and PC World. He has also completed the sound design and mix for a sequence of trailers for a new American series about the paranormal.
GEOFF FOSTER Geoff started November recording the score for The Great Debaters (directed by Denzel Washington) with composer James Newton-Howard and continued mixing Tuomas Kantelinen’s film score for Arn at AIR Studios and British Grove. He also recorded a new project with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and then the score for Miss Austen Regrets at Olympic Studios in West London with composer Jennie Muskett. Miss Austen Regrets is a TV film with an all-star British cast starring Hugh Bonneville, Olivia Williams, Greta Scacchi, and Adrian Edmondson. STEVE ORCHARD Steve put the final touches to his album track mixes for A&G Records’ band Gloria Cycles at Strongroom and then continued recording with Israeli superstar Aviv Geffen at Rak Studios. Steve also mixed a track for American band Balan and then went on to Strongroom’s newly managed studio in Wapping The Smokehouse, where he tracked & mixed for Naked & The Boys. RUPERT COULSON Rupert spent much of the month with composer Klaus Bedalt & Sarah Class recording for the 2008 release of The Meerkats and continued programming the music for the successful BBC2 children’s series, In The Night Garden. NICK WOLLAGE During November, Nick worked on several scores including Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day starring Frances McDormand and Ciaran Hinds which is due for release in 2008. He then went on to score and mix the romantic comedy Made of Honour at AIR Studios and started a new album project with artist Caroline Lost.
ADAM NOBLE
Adam continued to mix the new Guillemots album at Strongroom, which is planned for release in 2008.
