Phil is a Producer/Engineer and musician whose name is synonymous with many of the great Brit bands of the 90’s including: Pulp, Elastica, Gene, Placebo, and The Auteurs (“New Wave” was nominated for a Mercury Prize). Phil has a great talent for bringing out the best in young bands and is particularly skilled in arranging and song development. Phil has been based in Europe for the past 18 months enjoying top ten hits with Zornik (EMI Belgium), and over in Mexico, Zoe has been nominated for a Latino Grammy, whilst further a field in New Zealand Phil has recently produced and mixed the Golden Horse LP which reached the No1 spot. Phil has just received a a nomination from the French Quartz Awards with the band Sub-Division. Their LP featured on a Cannes film winner and they are up for best undiscovered band. He has also produced a single for Micky Kerr from Leeds soon to be released, and he is also working on a single for the band, Show Without Punch. At present, he is producing a DVD for Mexican band ZOE, and he is also producing the Seeing Scarlet LP, which has been released features single 'Aliens'. Additionally, he has been working with The Simplifiers – a band which is a strange mixture of Mexican and Irish, plus a band called Coin from Holland soon to be released. Phil has recently been mixing for those Fantastic Plastic lovelies Victorian English Gentlemans Club, produced the debut single for Manchester’s finest International One and also produced a single for unsigned band Outside Royalty.
